Check My School Phase 2 fosters civic engagement to improve education service at the primary school level in the indigenous communities

The project started by empowering 24 women and youth in Mondulkiri and Ratanakiri so that they become the influencers working to advance the civic space and engage the parents to dialogues on education services at the 48 primary schools in six districts in the said province. 

Aside from promoting the citizen monitoring by women and youth, the project also focused on capacity development for school principals on participatory school planning that school principal and the women and youth group can work together to engage parents and school support committee to develop the five year school plan. In additional, the school principal and youth/women group had opportunity to learn about the best practice of school development from an outstanding school principal in Wat Bo primary school in Siem Reap province.
